ALS in which Bonneville congratulates Davis on the birth of his daughter; discusses the presidential election; and comments on the Navajos in New Mexico and his dissatisfaction with his present post. A note dated on August 14, 1902, and signed by W. W. H. Davis on the bottom of the last page states that Bonneville was the son of a French woman who nursed Thomas Paine in his last illness, and that Davis became acquainted with Bonneville in New Mexico where the two served in the Army in 1853-57.
